![]() In 1968, the Wheelock family formed Stanley Berroco which was transformed into Berroco in 1987 by Warren Wheelock and his wife, Caroline. In 1905, Stanley Wheelock established Stanley Woolen Mills, surviving the great depression, two world wars, and weathering the changing times and demands in the world of textiles. Warren Wheelock's great-great-great-grandfather, Jerry Wheelock, began the tradition by producing woolen cloth, an enterprise that would grow and change, enduring the test of time. From the Daniel Day Mill in 1809 to present-day Stanley Mill, six generations of Wheelocks have been continuously involved in the American textile industry. About Berroco:īerroco has been producing quality yarn for 40 years but the company's roots actually go back centuries. Garnetted fiber is the result of shredding old textiles to make a new, fleece-like fiber that is ready to be spun into a new yarn. Instead, colors are created by carefully blending garnetted fibers. Because these pieces are pre-dyed, there is no need to dye them again, which saves water and prevents water pollution. Garments and high-quality commercially knit fabric panels left over from the ready-to-wear industry are collected from across Europe and sorted by fiber, then color. Remix was the result of over a year of collaborative work between mill and textile engineers, and after a number of years of enduring popularity, we added a lighter-weight version to the line. ![]() Enter Remix, a 100% recycled Berroco yarn made using a low-impact manufacturing process patented in France. How are you greening your knitting? Reducing doesn’t seem like much fun, and reusing generally means you’ve had to rip out a failing project, a painful part of any knitter’s process. The lace panels on the front are repeated on the sleeves and back for an open, airy cardigan that's perfect for summer.Ĭlick here to view more free patterns featuring Berroco Remix® Light About the Berroco's Remix yarn line: You can call us at (509) 536-7746 or send us an email at Free Patterns Using Berroco's Remix Light DK Yarn: If your project is time-sensitive, please contact us regarding the current stock & shipping times of specific lines and colorways.
